A1 REHABILITATION OF THE FORMER SEMINARY OF SAN CARLOS AND SAN AMBROSIO BUILDING

Eighteenth century building, where the Father Felix Varela Cultural Center is located and where the activities of the Cardinal Jaime Ortega Foundation, the Father Felix Varela Institute of Ecclesiastical Studies, the Chair of Sacred Music and the John Paul II Institute of Bioethics are carried out. All of them dedicated to academic and human formation; a place of cultural exchange, a center for publications and research. It was an idea promoted by Father Yosvany, President of the Cardinal Jaime Ortega Foundation, who will manage with the Archbishopric of Havana the contribution of €100,000 committed to the Government of Italy, which will develop the project as a result of the efforts made by Father Yosvany.

A2 TRAINING OF DOCTORS IN THE HUMANITIES FOR THE INSTITUTE OF ECCLESIASTICAL STUDIES P. FÉLIX VARELA

The objective is to train the doctoral students required by the faculty of the Institute of Ecclesiastical Studies. In the year 2023, the costs of registration, tuition, attendance at courses at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria will be financed for two doctoral students. Approximate amount €8,000

Candidates will be selected by the Academic Council

A3 INVITATION OF FOREIGN PROFESSORS TO GIVE SEMINARS AT THE P. FÉLIX VARELA CULTURAL CENTER

The costs to be borne by the Foundation will be in the order of €3,500.

A4 COMPLETION OF TWO COURSES OF THE MASTER’S DEGREE IN SOCIAL DOCTRINE OF THE CHURCH GIVEN BY THE PAUL VI FOUNDATION

The Official Master’s Degree in the Social Doctrine of the Church, offered in collaboration between the Pontifical University of Salamanca and the Paul VI Foundation, promotes the study of the socio-community dimension of the Church and its integration within contemporary societies. Its objectives are:

  • To know, justify and develop the foundations of Social Moral Theology, with the texts of the Social Doctrine of the Church, in order to dialogue and debate in today’s world.
  • To be able to give a moral judgment on the particular problems that are dealt with in social and economic life.
  • To acquire the skills necessary to promote justice and integral human development.
  • To learn to combine action, thought and academic excellence for social change. The costs to be assumed by the Foundation will be in the order of €3,700, corresponding to 50% of the tuition fees, the rest being contributed by the Paul VI Foundation itself.

A5 TOURISM PROJECT IN INFRASTRUCTURES AND ESTABLISHMENTS ANNEXED TO THE CATHOLIC PARISHES OF CUBA

The idea is to use the existing catering and lodging facilities in the surroundings of Catholic parishes in Cuba to combine the generation of income for the Foundation’s purposes and the development of the professional skills of the students of the training programs offered by the Foundation. Father Yosvany, President of the Cardinal Jaime Ortega Foundation will manage with the Archbishopric of Havana the financing for the development of the project.

A6 CORPORATE COMMUNICATION PLAN OF THE FOUNDATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE WEBSITE

The idea is to develop the Foundation’s own communication tool to publicize the Foundation’s own achievements as a means of attracting donations in the form of scholarships, sponsorships and professional experiences. P. Yosvany will appoint a couple of collaborators for the WEB. Funding is estimated to be around 6.000€.
